So I thought I was halfway decent at taking photographs of my artwork until I saw this scan of my Morning Glories by the Cruse scanner (thanks to Mark @artsdistrictimageworks, who has the only Cruse scanner in the region). I dare say I haven't been doing my paperart justice, which all goes to show, in this day and age of social media, it's not really sufficient to produce good art, you have to document it just as well, if not better.

I will be getting a few more of my floral pieces scanned, for future prints. If there's any particular piece you'd like to see as a print, let me know in the comments! (Thank you to those who already responded to this in my story a few days ago.)

So I started then abandoned this piece last year. Mostly because I wasn't happy with how it was turning out. Thought I'd revisit and complete it in the new year, and I'm glad I did.

JAPANESE MAPLE No. 2, 3/8

No need for that double take, this maple leaf IS floating. Those of you who have been here long enough might remember this piece. It's one of the very first things I made, and has been given a new lease on life and is happily in its new home in Maryland.

Look at the second pic to see the leaf in its gorgeous gold frame. The gravity-defying framing is, as always, done by the our talented local framers @carter_ave_frame_shop here in the frozen tundra otherwise also known as Saint Paul, MN.

So excited to finally share this two-page editorial piece for @exploreminnesota, in the Jan/Feb issue of @midwestlivingmag. Each of the seasons' flaps fold open, revealing travel information relating to that season. Thanks to the creative team @meredithcorporation for the opportunity!

A fun collaborative project with @senses_paper, 26 members of the @paperartistcollective were each randomly assigned a letter of the alphabet and 3 unique paper colors. I got the letter 'P', and my colors were Caribbean Shallows, Driftwood Grey and Saffron Yellow, each with a different paper weight. TWO MAGNOLIAS, 3/8

Hours of work condensed into 30 seconds (see previous post for the still if you missed it). So I completely forgot Hyperlapse exists on my phone, I'll be trying that app out for the next time-lapse (which will be in a vertical 5:4 format which is apparently what Instagram prefers). This is only the 2nd time-lapse I've ever done, constructive criticism is welcome.

Having the process recorded was a tad inconvenient; I had to be very conscious about not leaning forward so my big head wasn't in the shot, I had to remember to not move the canvas around so much, and most importantly, to start and stop the video. I thought the phone was recording at one point but it totally wasn't.

I generally have no patience for videos, so it's difficult for me to gauge what works and what doesn't. Too fast? Too slow? More close-ups? Less? Are you even interested in time-lapses?
